This family of measures consists of lighting technologies aimed to influence the person at risk of suicide and occasionally to facilitate the surveillance process.

It is considered a technological family because it uses lighting technologies to with the aim to discourage people with suicide intent by influencing their behaviour or by inducing a calming effect.

Measures in this family may also refer to concepts such as: spotlight, blue light, white light, light emitting diode (LED  ), light calming, mood altering light, lighting system, lighting source, lighting technology, lamps, reflectors, warning system, warning device, sensors, deterrent measures, etc.
