Description

What does this measure refer to and what is its objective?

The CBT module is intended for decision makers dealing with railway incidents, primarily the police, and also the representative of the general prosecution and the judge on call. Its purpose is to enhance these entities’ understanding of the manner in which suicides and fatal trespassing incidents on rail infrastructure are handled, with the aim of improving their cooperation with the IMs and RUs and enabling resumption of train circulation with minimum delay.

Recommendations

Best practice and lessons learned

Indeed, it is important to train the police and those who are involved in managing suicides and fatal trespassing incidents on railway infrastructure, and specifically in decision making processes in the managing of these incidents (CBT module).

The CBT was developed as an interactive tool to support an effective and interesting learning process. Trainees not only follow the topics of the lesson step-by-step, but also answer multiple choices questions and benefit from other interactive methods that are embedded into the tool.

The CBT module covers the following topics:

  • Understanding the problem, its scope and severity.
  • Understanding railways’ incident response arrangements.
  • Supporting the railway with the quickest possible incident resolution.
  • Case study.
  • Lesson summary.
